Training, Perspective, and Approach

Hi, I’m Shane Brill.

I help people better understand their health and work toward sustainable, individualized wellness through nutrition education, lifestyle support, and functional insight.

My approach blends ancestral nutrition principles, functional lab interpretation, and a respect for ecological connection to help you make sense of your symptoms and support your body in a practical, sustainable way.

Many of the people I work with are navigating digestive concerns, hormonal shifts, chronic fatigue, or symptoms that haven’t been fully explained through conventional care. My role is to help you explore those patterns with clarity and context so you can make informed decisions about your health.

Through the Chestertown Wellness Collective, I collaborate with a team of holistic practitioners to support community well-being through education, events, and integrated care.

my Story

Like many of my clients, I came to nutritional therapy through my own health experiences.

I faced ongoing health challenges that weren’t fully resolved through conventional approaches, which led me to explore nutrition, environmental factors, and lifestyle as contributing pieces of the puzzle.

Over time, I began to understand how deeply interconnected these systems are — and how powerful it can be when people are given the time and tools to understand their own health patterns.

Today, I work one-on-one with clients and through community education to support greater clarity, resilience, and confidence in how they care for their health.

My Approach

I combine formal training through the Nutritional Therapy Association, the Institute of Restorative Health, and the Toxin Mastery Method with a systems-based, nature-informed perspective.

Root-cause exploration
We look at patterns across your history, symptoms, and environment to better understand contributing factors and guide next steps.

Bio-individuality
Recommendations are tailored to your physiology, lifestyle, and capacity — not standardized protocols.

Practical, sustainable change
We focus on realistic shifts that can be maintained over time, rather than short-term or restrictive approaches.

Education and empowerment
You’ll learn how to interpret patterns in your health and communicate more effectively with your healthcare providers.

I am also a certified instructor of the RESTART® program and lead community workshops on nutrition, seasonal eating, and reconnecting with food systems.

Beyond Nutrition

I live in Chestertown, Maryland, where I tend edible gardens filled with fruit trees, herbs, and seasonal plants. This work informs my perspective on food, environment, and health as interconnected systems.

My work is shaped by permaculture principles and a belief that true healing is possible when we realign with natural systems.

Ultimately, eating well is not just about individual health — it’s also about our relationship with the land that sustains us.

Eating the foods that truly nourish us doesn’t just restore our health — it restores the land that makes that nourishment possible.

Through studying the links between environment and health, I’ve learned to source, grow, and create meals that truly nourish — made from scratch and from the soil up.
